Auburn® Standard - Performance Parameters
General:
Auburn® Standard unit skylights are manufactured by Major Industries in a strictly controlled environment designed to meet both our in-house quality policy and third-party performance guidelines. Our standard unit skylights are designed in accordance with AAMA standards.
Performance:
Auburn® Standard unit skylights shall have the following minimum performance attributes:
- Framework: Extruded aluminum, ASTM B 221, Alloy 6063-T6 or 6061-T6. Skylight shall be constructed of extruded aluminum shapes similar to the sections as shown on the architectural drawings. They shall incorporate continuous gaskets applied above and below the glazing, and shall have condensation gutters as an integral part of their construction.
- Glazing Strips: Extruded EPDM or neoprene gaskets as indicated per specified glazing material. Closed cell foam tape shall be used as an alternative where industry practices prevail.
- Fasteners: Exterior cap retainers shall use stainless steel screws, ASTM A 193, Series B8 300 and all exposed fasteners to match aluminum finish.
- Sealants: Nonstructural weather seal joints will use silicone sealants applied in accordance with sealant manufacturer's instructions.
- Curb: Double wall insulated aluminum curb sized to the opening with full mitered corners, all seams welded, 1 1/2" thick rigid fiberglass insulation and pressure treated wood nailer strip.
- Glazing Caps: Extruded 6063-T6 aluminum glazing caps attached at factory with glazing cap fasteners located at a maximum of 9 inches on center or as required to resist negative loading.

- Architectural Class I clear anodized Type AA-M10C22 A41 (supercedes AAMA 607.1).
- Architectural Class II clear anodized type AA-M10C22-A31.
- Architectural Class I pigmented anodized Type AA-M10C22 A42 (supercedes AAMA 606.1).
- Pigmented Organic Coatings: AAMA 603.8.
- High Performance Pigmented Organic Coatings: AAMA 2605 (supercedes AAMA 605.2).
