Guard-Tite™ Translucent Curtainwall Systems

Guard-Tite™ curtainwall provides glare-free natural light to interior spaces, while also allowing for flexibility in design and long-term durability.

Guard-Tite™ curtainwall systems utilize Guardian 275® Translucent Panels and a framing system that holds panels in place without visible fasteners. The Guard-Tite™ design provides a "snap and capture" detail that provides rapid field installation and secure holding power for a clean, uncluttered sight line that improves aesthetics and tamper resistance. Guard-Tite™ also offers unsurpassed protection against water and air infiltration by using only EPDM gasketing and long-lasting high-performance sealants.

Like all of our Guardian 275® systems, Guard-Tite™ exterior translucent glazing panels feature an Ultimate Series™ fiberglass face sheet that offers unmatched weather, fiberbloom and UV protection as well as the longest lasting service life - and best of all it does not require recoating to protect its appearance or maintain the warranty.

• Guardian 275® NFRC certified system u-factors (with framning and grid core) as low as .20 for our 2.75" system and .16 for our 4" system. Various insulation options available.
• Designed with a maximum allowable deflection of L/120 for a stronger, more watertight system.

• Translucent Adapter Panel™ (TAP) allows Guardian 275® panels to fit into standard one-inch framing systems.It's a cost-effective way to introduce energy-saving translucent daylighting into older buildings.
• Trim Tones™, our unique system for concealing exterior fasteners, offers the ultimate in design flexibility - make your daylighting design blend into the background or jump out with a colorful, artistic touch.
• Spectra-Grid™ custom-colored translucent insulation creates visual impact. This colorful option is perfect for educational facilities wanting to show off their school colors, or as a cost-effective alternative to stained glass.

Design Considerations and Specifications

• Wall panels normally run vertically with a 5'-0" maximum width. Standard wall panels are sized in 14'-0" lengths to facilitate installation.
• Sheet color options include Crystal, White, Aqua, Ice Blue, Tan and Desert Rose.
• A poured and debridged thermal break is available for improved performance in colder climates.
• Standard wall system designs are based on a 25 PSF wind load.
• Standard Guard-Tite™ wall systems are available in 2 3/4" thick panels. 4" (for enhanced thermal performance), 1 1/2" and 1" panels are also available.
• Classic grid layouts include in-line Shoji, staggered Shoji, and Tuckerman patterns, in sizes from 6"x6" up to 12"x24".
• Verti-Lite™ grid pattern also available for a unique look (vertical grid only with no cross pieces).
• Larger spans require double panels and smaller grid configurations. Consult the factory for your specific job.
