TransCURVE™ - Curved Translucent Building Panels
When your project demands something different, consider TransCURVE™. These curved translucent panels come in standard or custom radii, so you can be sure there's a panel to fit your needs.
- Striking curved appearance enhances design freedom.
- Natural energy efficiency saves money and stabilizes HVAC loads.
- Provides the beauty of natural daylighting while reducing glare and heat loss.
- Possible LEED® and LEED for Schools credit opportunities.
- Can be used in both wall panel and skylight applications.
- Low rise or half-round designs available.
Major manufactures TransCURVE™ translucent building panels from high-performance architectural-grade fiberglass. Long-term weather protection for our exterior fiberglass face sheet starts with the most advanced polyester resin package ever developed for commercial daylighting. Ultimate Series™ technology utilizes a unique blend of polymers, UV inhibitors, color stabilizers, and a permanent fiberbloom erosion veil to establish a new benchmark for long-term performance.
TransCURVE™ panels are based on the same technology as our super energy efficient Guardian 275® composite sandwich panels. TransCURVE™ translucent panels offer high energy efficiency, exceptional strength, and glare-free daylighting. Typical skylight applications include 180° barrel vaults in single or multiple panel configurations. Other designs incorporate the low-rise concept with or without structural tubes depending on the span.
Wall applications are numerous but are typically used at corners or for special alcove-style feature areas. In addition to the unique aspects of TransCURVE™, the product enjoys the standard features that have made Major's Guardian 275® translucent building panel such a success. For instance, all structural components in a TransCURVE™ skylight use high-perfromance sealants and EPDM gasketing for optimal water management. Major's standard panels have R-values of 2.5, but you can specify additional insulation in the panels to drive performance even higher.

TransCURVE™ Design Considerations:
- Standard skylight designs are based on a 40 PSF live load with a 20 PSF wind load.
- Maximum grid size is 12"x24" in both four-foot wide and five-foot wide panels.
- Larger spans require double panels and smaller grid configurations. Consult the factory for your specific job.
- Thrust loads on the curb vary by skylight configuration and span. Thrust-free designs are optional, and normally require collar ties or structural curbing.
- Wall panels normally run horizontally with a 5'-0" maximum height. Standard wall panels are sized in 14'-0" lengths to facilitate installation. Minimum panel radius in any application is 4'-0".
Major's TransCURVE™ skylight system features strong, lightweight panels that provide uniform, glare-free daylighting. Wall panel system details are similar.
