EQ Credit 8.1 to 8.2 - Daylight and Views
General Description
EQ 8.1: Achieve a minimum glazing factor of 2% in a minimum of 75% of all regularly occupied areas. EQ 8.2: Achieve direct line of sight to the outdoor environment via vision glazing between 2’6” and 7’6” above finish floor for building occupants in 90% of all regularly occupied areas.
Guardian 275®
It may be possible to obtain EQ credit 8.1 and 8.2 by incorporating Major Industries' translucent glazing panels into the buildings natural daylighting requirements. Guardian 275® translucent panel systems offer a soft, diffused glare free natural light. Other light control products are not necessary. Fixed and operable windows glazed with vision glass are available in Guard-Tite™ Window/Wall applications.
Auburn® Skylights
It may be possible to obtain EQ credit 8.1 by incorporating Auburn® skylights, which can be configured with a variety of glazing materials to create either unobstructed views and direct sunlight or soft, diffuse daylighting that allows occupants to enjoy the benefits of daylighting without the glare and "hot spots."
