Materials Reuse

General Description

Use salvaged, refurbished or reused materials such that the sum of these materials constitutes at least 5% / 10% (one to two points), based on cost, of the total value of materials on the project.

Guardian 275®

It may be possible to obtain MR Credits 3 by utilizing existing or salvaged Guardian 275® translucent daylighting panels in the building's natural daylighting requirements. When a building is in the renovation process, Guardian 275® skylights or curtainwall may be reconditioned by one of the following methods: 1) Refinish existing exterior panel faces with specially designed surface coating. 2) Reuse existing framing system while replacing the glazing panels only. 3) Replace the entire system - frame and panels.

Auburn®

It may be possible to obtain MR Credits 3 by utilizing exisiting or salvaged Auburn® skylights in the building's natural daylighting requirements. When a building is in the renovation process, Auburn® skylights may be reconditioned by one of the following methods: 1) Reuse existing framing system while replacing the glazing material only. 2) Replace the entire system - frame and glazing.
